Luke Watson
Centre Manager
Luke joined Spear as Centre Manager for the Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and North Fulham centres in September 2010. He studied as a Biologist at Southampton University and Imperial College London, and used to work as a conservation Biologist in Switzerland and the Brazilian Amazon. Luke then moved to a secondary school in South West London, where he taught Biology for five years.
Hannah Widdows
Centre Manager
Hannah is the Spear Centre Manager in World’s End, Chelsea where she has worked since joining in September 2009, working as both Assistant Coach and Lead Coach before managing the centre. Hannah has previously worked for an international development charity encouraging youth to engage in social justice issues and has volunteered for a number of years as Overall Leader of a Falcon Camp, providing holidays for young people who face disadvantage in their day-to-day lives.
Pete Bacon
Lead Coach
Pete is based in Hammersmith as a Lead Coach and has been involved in opening the Shepherd’s Bush and North Fulham satellite centres. He enjoys seeing young people take responsibility for themselves and have a positive impact on those around them. He has previously worked with a team supporting marginalised adults in Oxford, after gaining his degree from the University of Nottingham.
Dolores Delgado
Lead Coach
Dolores works in the Chelsea Spear Centre as a Lead Coach. Ten years ago, she received an MA in Education from Columbia University. Since then she has taught a variety of subjects including RE, English to Speakers of Other Languages as well as literacy to children with dyslexia. She also worked as the chaplain at a Catholic girls’ school in the States and spent a year as the Sunday Service Coordinator for Holy Trinity, Onslow Square.
Joanne Holmes
Lead Coach
Joanne is a Lead Coach based at the Chelsea centre. She has been a volunteer youth leader at her local church since 2005 and has played an active role in developing and motivating young people to fulfil their potential and make positive choices. Joanne previously worked as a Senior Fundraising Executive for a children’s charity before joining Spear in September 2010.
Susannah Steele
Lead Coach
Susannah joined the Spear team in February 2011 and works as a Lead Coach. She has a Masters in Social Development and has previously worked in the East and Central Africa team at Tearfund supporting the Country Representatives. UK voluntary work along with visits to projects in Africa has been inspirational and she has a real heart to see people and communities grow and develop.
Laura Young
Lead Coach
Laura is a Lead Coach in Hammersmith & Fulham. Laura joined Spear in March 2011 having trained and worked as a primary school teacher for a number of years. She left teaching to pursue a career in the charity sector which started with fundraising for microfinance charity, Opportunity International, before returning to her love of coaching and teaching at Spear.
Lucy Davenport
Assistant Coach
Lucy joined the team as an Assistant Coach in the Hammersmith Centre in November 2010. Lucy has a degree in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies and ran her own theatre company for a couple of years while working in Higher Education. Lucy also has experience in youth work and is excited to be able to use her skills to see young people develop and grow.
Jack du Pille
Assistant Coach
Jack is Assistant Coach in the Hammersmith and Fulham team. Jack has followed his passion in sports for several years, primarily coaching rugby but also tennis, rowing, football and cricket to secondary school children and University students. Jack is currently the Head Coach of Teddington Ladies Rugby team.
Annie Wyeth
Assistant Coach
Annie is a Spear Assistant Coach in Hammersmith. She moved to London to work for Spear in May 2011 after studying Social Work at Southampton University. She has done placements in a Children’s Centre and with a charity working to promote social inclusion for unemployed young people and adults.
