Our young people are still completing the Spear course successfully and are continuing to go into work. Of the 10 Spear students we graduated from our Chelsea centre last Thursday, five are already in work. You’ll see a few short stories in this edition of our newsletter that we hope will inspire and encourage you as much as they have us.
Our fundraising party in November was once again hosted at St Paul’s Hammersmith thanks to a small army of remarkable volunteers. The 270 guests raised an incredible £204,000 for Spear between them. It was an overwhelming and hugely encouraging night for the team; the perfect way to propel us into 2011 and to launch our next new centre in Shepherd’s Bush.
There have been some comings and goings on the team. Both Nic Glasgow and Tanya Larosa have been blessed with beautiful little boys that have called them away from us for a time at least. Jo Souray has moved to South Africa to work on development projects out there. We’ve also acquired seven new staff since September – a fantastic group of men and women all passionate about seeing young people fulfil their potential.
